鋼材を素早く削れるため、大きな刃欠けの修正、乱れた刃線の整形、厚くなった刃先周辺の調整など、研削量の多い作業に適しています。
研磨力が高い一方で、研ぎ傷が深く入り、砥石面も変形しやすいため、こまめな面直しが必要です。使用後は#400、#1000などの砥石へ進み、荒い研ぎ傷を段階的に整えてください。
研ぐ量や形状を見極める必要があるため、砥石の扱いに慣れた方向けの商品です。

【Product Description】
A very coarse #180 whetstone made with green silicon carbide (GC) abrasive for rapid material removal.
Its strong cutting action makes it suitable for repairing large chips, correcting a distorted edge profile, and thinning the area behind an edge that has become too thick.
This stone leaves deep grinding scratches and can dish relatively quickly, so frequent flattening is essential. After using it, progress through finer stones such as #400 and #1000 to remove the coarse scratches in stages.
Because careful control of material removal and blade geometry is required, this whetstone is intended for experienced sharpeners.
