【Description】
This traditionally forged 150mm deba is designed for preparing and filleting fish.
The blade is made from Japanese SK carbon steel, valued for its keen cutting edge and ease of sharpening. Its substantial blade and weight make it suitable for filleting fish, removing heads, and working around fish bones.
The compact 150mm blade is easy to control and well suited to small and medium-sized fish such as horse mackerel, mackerel, and small sea bream. Its manageable size also makes it a practical first deba for home use.
The appropriate deba size depends mainly on the size of the fish being prepared. As a general guide, a 165mm deba is suitable for red sea bream or black sea bream measuring approximately 30–40cm. For large fish exceeding 60cm, a deba of 180mm or longer is recommended.
This knife has a traditional single-bevel edge for right-handed use and a lightweight, comfortable magnolia-wood handle.
